Ja sicher, es gibt länger bestehende Fachzeitschriften. Aber nur wenige, die so eng mit der technologischen Entwicklung ihrer Branche verbunden sind bzw. diese so intensiv mit vorangetrieben haben wie die Zeitschrift beton. Ein Grund dafür ist sicher die Fokussierung auf die Themen Betontechnologie und Betontechnik, die es den handelnden Personen in der Redaktion ermöglichte, stets eng verzahnt mit ihrer Branche zu agieren. Häufige Wechsel der Chefredakteure wie bei Publikumszeitschriften? Fehlanzeige. In den 75 Jahren zählt man gerade sieben, die bisher (!) längste Amtsdauer: 20 Jahre. So konnte sich ein steter vertrauensvoller Austausch zwischen Redakteuren der beton und den Autoren aus Forschung, Behörden und Unternehmen entwickeln und sich die Zeitschrift als Brücke zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis etablieren. Festzuhalten bleibt: Zum Erfolg der Zeitschrift tragen Autoren, Leser und Redaktion gleichermaßen bei. Jeder gewinnt: Praktikern bieten die Fachbeiträge aus der Wissenschaft innovative Lösungsansätze für Projekte, die zunächst vielleicht kaum lösbar scheinen. Wissenschaftler können in den Beiträgen aus der Praxis nachlesen, mit welchen Problemen man sich im Werk und auf der Baustelle beschäftigt, und so ihre Forschung darauf abstimmen. Wie sich dies in den 75 Jahren seit dem ersten Erscheinen der Fachzeitschrift beton dargestellt hat, wird in dem Beitrag berichtet. Natürlich kann hier nicht jede Person und jedes Detail genannt werden. Nur das Wesentliche soll hervorgehoben werden, so wie es immer schon das Prinzip der Fachzeitschrift beton gewesen ist.
75 years of the trade journal beton
Yes, of course, there are longer-standing specialist journals. But there are few that are so closely linked to the technological development of their industry or have driven it forward as intensively as the technical journal beton (concrete). One reason for this is certainly the focus on the topics of concrete technology and bet on technology, which has enabled the people involved in the editorial team to always work closely with their industry. Frequent changes of editors-in-chief, as is the case with consumer magazines? Not at all. In the 75 years, there have been just seven, the longest term of office to date (!): 20 years. This has enabled beton‘s editors and authors from research, authorities and companies to develop a constant dialogue based on trust, and the journal has established itself as a bridge between science and practice. One thing remains to be said: Authors, readers and editors contribute equally to the success of the journal. Everyone wins: the specialist contibutions from the world of science offer practitioners innovative solutions for projects that may initially seem almost impossible to solve. Scientists can read the contributions from the field to find out what problems they are dealing with in the factory and on the construction site, and thus adapt their research accordingly. The contribution reports on how this has developed in the 75 years since the first publication of the technical journal beton. Of course, not every person and every detail can be mentioned. Only the essentials should be emphasised, as has always been the principle of beton journal.
